    What are ya'll using?

Has anyone seen different results between the Startron and the Stabil Marine. I've ready alot about it and was just going to see what my fellow Champ members were running and there results. I've been using Startron after every fill up and adding SeaFoam about every other fill up. The Startron is getting harder to find where i live so I'm trying to decide whether to stock up on a bunch of Startron or switch to the Stabil. Thanks!

    Excellent results

I started using Startron last few fill ups but had always used the Marine Stabil. I cant tell you if one is better than the other. One is petroleum distallites and other is enzymes eater..I think the best way to protect your engine is just put in enough fuel that you need and keep turning it over throughout the year and then when it comes to winter for storage dump them all in the tank,,seafoam, stabil, startron and whatever dam product that helps..

I have always used marine sta-bil with every fill up. This year I also started using the Startron as well with every fill up. I have heard from quite a few BBC'ers (of whom I thoroughly trust their expertise) that the startron is good for treating the problems associated with ethanol. Not a cure for all the problems, but may help prevent one in the future. Some even say their engine runs better with the startron. I can't say from my experience that my engine is running any better though. I honestly don't know if any of these products work as advertised, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt any.

Seafoam is cheap! Startron is 99% white-gas! I'll stick to Stabil!

I also have a 12V pump and pump it dry into the truck if I haven't been out in a while. Its just too easy to start fresh

    Wrong! It's a petroleum distillate.

Non ethanol gas (most premium gas is still conventional gas) around here. I am also fortunate to have several stations that sell ethanol free gas. Ring free in every tank and Stabil if I know it's going to several weeks before I'm out again.

    Peace,

Re: What are ya'll using? (tradicles)

Marine Stabil isn't for storage. It's for preventing corrosion in your fuel system and keeping your fuel lines from dissolving from ethanol. ALL of our fuels in this part of the country contain ethanol, including Premium. I've had injectors cleaned and the shop told me that the solvent came out black when they started cleaning them. That's fuel lines that are dissolving from ethanol.

Regular Stabil is for storage, and it works very well. But I don't use it in my boat engine because my boat rarely sits for more than 2 weeks. I use it in mowers and lawn equipment during the winter months, and it works great for that.

I use Stabil, marine for fillups and the other for winter in case the boat sets some. I also use a yamaha additive for the gas.

Re: What are ya'll using? (Artie)

Your incorrect Artie marine stabil is in-deed to used for storage as well.

•More than FOUR TIMES the Fuel System Cleaner than in Regular STA-BIL
•DOUBLE the corrosion preventer than in Regular STA-BIL
•Prevents corrosion from moisture & water attraction
•Improves marine engine performance YEAR-ROUND, not just for seasonal storage

Re: What are ya'll using? (bassin butch)

Butch, I just read my current bottle, and it DOES say it's good for storing fuel up to 12 months. Funny thing, when it first hit the market I called them and inquired about it's intended use. They told me to use it to prevent corrosion and other harmful side effects from ethanol in our fuel. They told me specifically to use regualr Stabil for storage. I wonder if they changed the formula, or if maybe they were just telling me that because Marine Stabil is more expensive.

    Interesting.
