Steve - I have one that came out of my '96 181 (some where in the attic) - but I don't think it works either... At least I could never get it to read... (but it lights up) You can have it if you want to try to see if you can make the thing work?
They come up on Ebay regularly.

Lowrance does not repair them anymore but if you cannot find anything look up tri-state tolling motor in Missouri and call them. They have been able to help out people all over the u.s. when marine electronics are hard to find and you will not find a group of better people to deal with.
