I installed a Rod Saver trolling motor cable on my Motorguide Tour 82 today. Seems to work great. However, I noticed the coating had already worn through at points were it contacts the bracket. Has anyone had any problems with the steel cable causing significant wear on the bracket? Thanks.
Yes I bought one and took it off, it was wearing the grommet.
Changed over to parachute cord which many BBC'rs recommend.
Works great will never use any thing else again.

Darwin I just cut some off for you: It's enough to mount and have an extra in the boat. Be sure to take a flame to the ends to singe the nylon.
This stuff will shock you: small diameter strong as all get out and slippery, it will slide through your gromment with ease.
You should get it in the mail this week: try it out and post your comments for the other champers.
