etec 150 updates

Can anyone tell me if there are any updates on my 2007 EVINRUDE3 150 HP outboard E/DFI=Y Serial # 05161005

I just had one done in late October on a E150DPLSUF which the dealer said would be the last one. It was version #701. No one ever tells you what they are for.

As of the 2008 150 that is being shipped to dealers right now, they still arent perfect, at mid-range there is some slight run ability problems, however by the time you put your boat back in the water in the spring the update should be in and the new ones of the line should be perfect, Evinrude has tried so hard to push the E-tec that sometimes they release the motor before it is perfect, I.E. the 70hp 2 cyl and the 130 V4, motors you wont see for a while but where in the books for 2006.

I was told by my mechanic when he did my last update that it would be the last one. He said once they "name" an update with 3 characters (latest is #701) it signifies they are satisfied no further tweaking is needed.

Of course he can't be wrong??

Thanx. Just winterized the boat. Guess I will have them do the 701 update first thing in the Spring.
