2000 193 help

trying to figure out the trolling motor set up. it has two red and one black, with two 40amp breakers on the back wall. the set up that is on it is 24v and only using one of the red wires. the problem is, use it on high and breaker flips. I am not the orig owner, i am thinking this might have had a 12-24v set up. now that it is 24v that it needs one 50amp breaker. next problem I can not find the breakers with the red button. or is it hooked up wrong.

yea posted in there, hopeing the champ guys could shed light on breaker brands and maybe some history on the way the boat is rigged.

I have the same problem with mine. I need to change to 50 amp breakers, but haven't done it yet. I've never been able to find 50 amp breakers with the red button though.

I've got the same issue in my 2000 193. What are you guys running for trolling motors, I have a MG 67lb 24 volt.

I went to an 80 lb. Minnkota this year on my 98 191,,The old motor Guide had the selector switch for 12 or 24. When I wired the plug to the new Min. I hooked up one at a time and just went with the one that sounded the strongest! Obviously I am not an Electrician. But it works and I only have the two 40 amp breakers like you are talking about. No problems so far!

When I switched to my MG Tour 82 I had 40amp, and the book said to have 50amp so I switched them.

Kendor marine up here has them for $10.00 each.

I had the same set up also. My boat had a 12/24v tm. I replaced with a MK70 lb. I didn't want to do away with the 12 v wires, so I just put wire nuts, electrical tape, and the liquid tape on them. Kept the 24v wires for the current tm and still using the 40 amp breakers. Switched mine about 3 years ago, no problems.

the cheapest i have found so far is like $50, i would stay with the 40amps if i thought it was fine. back to the garage to try and unlock the champ wiring code, if you see smoke from the house you know i messed up, lol. I really would like to keep it clean looking, not splice wires to put in a seadog or equiv.

I'm running a 782 Motorguide. It only pops when it is on high. It didn't do it originally, but over time I think one of my breakers is weak. When I went to straight 24, I just wired the motor on the Marinco plug where the 24 volt source was.
