    1986 168

OK Finally got to get the boat out after puting a 120 hp Johnson on it. 1986 168 120 hp Johnson at 3.5" below pad and standard 22p Staineless prop. NO HOLE SHOT. Had to get my partner to stand up front and it finally got up on plane. At WOT was turning 4800 rpms. If I hit ANY CHOP at all it would porpise bad. Took it back to the dock, Put a standard 19p on and went back out and it still had no hole shot. Same with thwe porpising and 4600 rpm at Wot. Went back and put it at 4” below pad and hole shot was slightly batter but still sluggish getting on plane. Still 46-4700 rpms wot. Any Ideas?

What are you calling a standard prop?? Regardless, 22 is too much prop for that 120, but it shouldn't have any problems turning a 19 Raker at 6K

Replied in setup forum, but same answer, you aren't running on all four.

I put the 22p quicksilver prop on mine and have horrible hole shot. I believe too much prop slip. I am searching for some of those square plugs to fill the holes on the prop. Seams you should definatley be able to spin that prop up higher than what you have going.
    Good luck.
