Hey Stewart...need to come get you some of this..

29" 8 1/2 lb trout on a topwater in shin deep water wallowing around with the redfish...they look like logs when you're sight fishing. It's really good and looking better the next few weeks.

The gravy maker lost one that would have swallowed that one, took her cricket about 6 feet from the scooter, when she slung it up it scared her so bad she threw the rod at it...chaos followed...

Taking the spawn this afternoon...good hard tides and waning winds can sure equal A++ trips.

As much fun as bass fishing is...a ten pound redfish rupturing a topwater will ruin you for life. It sure did me.

    Re: (pmgoffjr)

It sure did for me! I like pulling on 10-30 10lb reds on a trip instead of hoping for one 5 lb bass. But then again, the few times I can go now, I just go where anything is hitting the line. Could be bluegill. Fine with me.
    Good luck!!!

    Re: (Tx Champ)

Thanks for the envy Pat. High river really messed up the lake around here the past month. I caught one 24 inches just before they opened the spillway. Last year got one almost 7 pounds. You know we consider those reds trash fish around here. Next time your in I will take you to Venice and you will get sick of catching the reds

    Pat,

Shoot me your address and I'll send you a new Yamaha hat. That one has been out in the sun too long.

    Peace,

    Re: (pmgoffjr)

Yes sir! Consider me ruined....just got back from Corpus on Wednesday. Tuesday morning the bays were glass and the bait was everywhere. We found the reds cruising the edge of a grass flat over in the Boat Hole and tore 'em up on tops. Ended up keeping 8 reds from 22" - 28" with one oversize. One of (if not the most) exciting fishing experiences ever. Those bronze torpedos look like a tidal surge behind your bait, then all hell breaks loose. After one blow up, one of the guys in our group says "Damn, that looked like someone just dropped a piano in the water!!"

Stewart, no need to talk me into a venice trip, been there enough times to *know* what's up. I'd really like to see what country could be found in the back lakes in my scooter though...I can only imagine.

Don, that's one of my "nice" hats, you should see the scuzzy ones...PM sent, I have trade bait.
