    BRP Engine Care Products

    2006 60HP E-tec

What are the differences between the following products (all from BRP)?

    2+4 fuel conditioner
    engine tuner
    fuel system cleaner

I can't get these products in Barbados (dealer refuses to bring them in). The boat is used daily, and I have just switched over to XD100 after using XD50 for the first 1500 hours or so. I use racor filters which I replace every 3 months (300 hours or so). The 50 gallon internal fuel tank tends to get a fair bit of sludge and water condensation which is trapped (I hope 100%) by the filters.

The engine are running great, but I am wondering if I should be using any of the above products to extend engine life/fuel consumption/etc....

2+4 conditioner is like Stabil, Engine Tuner is for de-carbing the motor, and fuel system cleaner is just that a fuel system cleaner that cleans the injectors and removes deposit from the fuel line. You've been running XD-50 since new and have swapped over to XD-100 I'd say your OK. I'm surprised your dealer won't bring it into the country as all are good products.

Thanks!!! I wonder how come I don't hear much mention of Engine Tuner on the boards - people generally seem to use Seafoam. (doesn't matter to me as neither are available locally! lol)

The dealer won't bring in XD100 since they figure no one will use it cause of the price (he would bring it in by the jug) and also cause people will probably switch to a regular TCW3 oil from time to time (even if they were on the XD100 setting) giving the dealer headaches....

The others he won't bring in as I believe they are "hazardous shipping" products and the extra shipping cost doesn't make it worth it to the dealer....as they would probably not do enough volume on them.

There is a diference in the 2+4.
Both 2+4 and Stabil are isopropaol based and will extend the life of the fuel but 2+4 has a higher level of corrosion protection for the fuel system.
