Fuel/Water Separator Location on a 2001 Champion 206?

Hoping for some input from fellow 206'ers...I'm looking and thinking about mounting on side of back storage compartment on drivers side? It has the fuel lines going through it, no carpet, more wet storage than dry. And I don't see any option inside the battery/oil compartment. Thanks...

What year make and horsepower engine do you have? Merc EFI and DFI already have a sufficient fuel/water separator in the filter or VST. If you install an add'l separator/filter, it can cause a lean condition and lead to detonation.

I have a 2001 Yamaha VMAX 225. It has the small inline filter only. Every dealer I've talked to recommends a separate 10 micron filter added. My last Ranger & Lund w/Yamaha's have had them with no problem.

I have a '03 206 and mounted mine on the drivers side in the battery compartment. fit right next to the cranking battery on the right side. Have to screw it in since there is no way to get a nut on a bolt. I change it twice a year and have had no problems with the 250 hpdi.

Do you have three more batteries for you trolling motor? No way I have room there. I'm thinking it is going to be in that rear compartment on drivers side. The fuel lines are close... Anyone else?

I Installed mine in the place you are talking about and it is very tight.

So tight that i will have to unmount it to change the filter.Just not to many options there

I only have the 24v system with 2 TM batteries and one starting battery. The 36v system would be real tight if at all possible.

My dealer installed mine on the forward walll of the battery compartment slightly to the right of center. However, I only have 3 batteries, two trolling and one starter.
