i have an 08 206 with a 250 pro xs....currently i'm running a 25p tempest plus and have been since i've gotten the rig. when i first got the rig she ran low 70's according to gps....after haveing an issue with the hull cracking and having the bottom half of the hull repoured she hasn't ran the same. after tweaking the jack plate up and down (manual jackplate) i've only been able to hit 65. what are the thoughts on this? is it that the hull doesn't like the prop? motor checked out fine via merc. Usually i don't care much about speed but cabin fever has me thinking thanks everyone!

Simple, strap on a 26P Fury and watch that hull run. It will pick up that 4-5 mph you lost. These props really lift these Champ hulls and make'em run.

My prop guy (Robbie Patterson up at Sanderson Marine.. ) told me the Fury was a bit more aggressive than the 26P Tempest Plus that I run, and to come down in pitch. TRCM kindly loaned me a blue-printed 25 Fury and it was absolutely perfect!

I said all that to say he may not need to go up in pitch. I would try the Fury in both sizes and see which performs better.

From what you stated, it's obvious it's not the engine. I would make sure the hull was fixed right. Sounds like that is the issue...who repaired it?

I run a tempest that has been tweaked by Mark Croxton. I also ran a fury tweaked the same. There wasn't any difference in performance in boat. I ran 74 and change with both, light loaded.

Any pics on the cracked hull?? I never saw a cracked hull!!

it went back home for champ to fix before all this name changing...it wasn't a major crack just an "air void" but all and all cosmetic just really ugly according to them it was cheaper to pour a new bottom half. i sure hope its nothing with the hull it appears to be solid just not scooting like she used to....from what i've been being told i hope the fury does the trick!
