Got my Stratos catalog today in the mail. It has some really good pictures of the Elite models in it. Stratos is definitely promoting the Elite models as top shelf products.

Ok now I'm lost? That looks like a Champion in a Stratos ! Have I missed something since I've been away ? I knew my brain would go stale when I bought that tin boat.

Yeah you pretty much missed it James, Here is a quick review. Genmar Marine who owned Champion, Stratos and Ranger along with other brands went bankrupt. They were bought by an outfit out of California called Platinum Equity. Platinum Equity moved the boat building to the Ranger plant and closed down the Champion/Stratos plant in TN. Board of Dickheads (sorry board of Directors) decided to keep 3 Champion molds and call them Champion Elite by Stratos. They kept the 183, 202 (old 198) and the 210. Everything else is rumored to be crushed. So going forward no more ChampioN name/branded boats.
Everything going forward will have a Stratos decal on the side. Toot finute' dats it in a nut shell. Just Fred

WOW !!! Guess I been asleep~ So from the picture posted to me the hull looks to be a Champion hull~~so did they drop the Stratos hull and keep Champ and call it Stratos ?

No, they still have the Stratos hulls. They just added the 3 champ hulls to their line and put Stratos stickers on them.
