I was surprised to see that Champion didn't carpet the center tackle compartment on the CX boats (my old Tournament boat had it... go figure). Right now I just have a rubber mat in there that I made, but was thinking about carpeting it since I run in a lot of rough water and do not want the plastic to get beat up.
Has anyone done this? Any other suggestions?
If you install a rack in there your planos should stay put..All my compartments are carpeted but I dont know whats better no carpet or carpet..When the carpet gets wet it takes a while to dry and over time the glue lets go and it starts to bubble or separate..
Thanks. I am kind of on the fence about this, since I currently don't use the individual Plano boxes (I am set up to be able to jump in a partner's boat at a moments notice - soft tackle bags and a box for hard baits). However, I think I may be leaning toward leaving the rubber Home Depot mat that I cut to fit and possibly going to the Plano boxes.
My 210 has carpeted boxes and they have a Plano rack in front center box..It is perfect..have everything quick and keeps baits dry..plus if you need to move you just pack what you need in a duffle bag and go...It keeps thing organized and easy access and lets you know when your running low on that favorite bait and color..
where can u buy these racks i have a 93 champ 201 just ext the deck that would be a great addition since i have 10 or so boxes
