My new to me 97 champ 202 w/200 proV yamaha

This is by far the best boat i have ever owned the only thing i want to do is hang a 250 yamaha on it. right now fully loaded with 2 people i get 66 mph gps what would a 250 yamaha push this rig to?

A 250 on that hull will see 75 easy. I has one that looked very similar. It had a 225 opti and saw 74.5 light and 72-73 loaded.

I can assure you that a 250 will get you 75 easy. Should be closer to 80. Mine ran right around 66-67 with the old 200.

Mine will run 67 light with my merc 200 I always wounderd what a 250 would do also.

My 202 runs 74.8 GPS with a 225 Yamaha, 27 tempest+. With a 250 maybe 80-81?

I thought th 97 202 was only rated for a 225 max.

I thought they were rated for any V6. But if the engine says 225 on the hood and serial plate doesn't necessarily mean the engine isn't pumping something else out >225/247.
