    Re: Passing the Torch.... (Gunnar)

Off to Lake Wylie!! Mike if he titles the rig in SC, no tags needed for the trailer but boat and motor are titled separatly. Has to pay taxes on both first then the titles. Property tax on my 2000 Johnson is $200.00, nothing on the boat if it is over 13 years old. Nothing on the trailer. Congrats young man, and welcome to the family!! Come on down to Hartwell sometime and I'll show you around. Keowee, Russell and Jocassee too!

    Re: Passing the Torch.... (ChampioNman)

Fred - Thanks for the welcome for Ben - We are in west GA visiting my Dad, so he may get out on Wylie Sat or Sun with this warm weather (TBD) & I'm sure he could use a good guide one day down on Hartwell next Spring -

As far as the SC registration (as we understandind it) he can exempt out of any initial tax for ownership transfer between imediate family & just pays for title registration hopefully... At least we have a notorized copy to prove we are father & son...

Fred is this a state law or just where you live?? "nothing on the boat if it is over 13 years old." My Champ is 17years old and I still have to paying taxes on it.

Thought it was State Ken but it may be just county. At least that is what they told me at the Anderson Co., tax office. May want to ask the Richland county tax office.

That is correct to the best of my knowledge Mike. Have Ben find out if there is a local DNR office they are easier to work with than Columbia. I have on here in Clemson that I go to all the time.
