The valve should be located in the sump area under our batteries unless they changed a whole lot lately. I had to pull my batteries and there was a drop in deck that you pull out and you will see the valve pretty much right away. I hope this helps.

Order a new one from flowrite, let me find my receipt from them and I'll send you the info, the TH
Open/close has always been a major pain, the flowrite is
Smaller in diameter so your need to make a bezel to make up for it being smaller then the old one, you'll need to pull the cranking battery and the oil res
And pull the metal platform they sit on for access then fishtape it to the old one and pull it thought, no more worries about water getting syphooned out when you run down the lake.

I have a somewhat related question. I am going to replace both the valve and cable on my 191 and need to know what length the cable is. Anybody know what length I need?

    Re: (DaveH)

I had the old red "flo rite" in my 94 186 and it would slowly leak out as well. I took it out and disassembled it thinking I might be able to fix it. No use, as it has a flimsy aluminum bar that it bent to put pressure on the portals to close the valve. Looking at its contsrction, I was amazed it ever worked. I replaced it with one I think made by T&H. The valve is much better constructed in my opinion.
To my surprise, I still have water getting into my livewells when the valve is closed....... oh well Just another winter project.

Item #2 was the original equipment (in the link below) and I replaced it with item #4.

    Good luck

I have the same problem with my 97 202. To me it isn't worth all of the effort to put in the new cable/control for the livewell. I simply put in a stopper at the drain exit. This keeps the water in the livewell and with additives, I don't ever lose any fish. This is a $1.00 solution.

Me too! I like things to be how they are supposed to be and I want it to work, whether I need it or not.

I just replaced my valve as well, i also put in a new areator, livewell timer, and Batteries. I figured since i was taking the batteries out i may as well replace this stuff, that way i wont have to take the batteries out again.

Kind of a pain standing on your head, but well worth the peace of mind knowing that it all is going to work.
