Sweet looking scoot Lea! You will really enjoy it. Suzuki's are nice bikes.
Ride like every car is going to pull out in front of you because 25 percent of them will. That's my words of wisdom.
Wear your helmet!

Rode for years!!! I know defensive driving! However, it's been a long time, so a safety course is in the near future.
wait a minute.... you came to SC and didn't call me or ChampioNman??? I could have loaned you a trailer (then you'd have to come back a hang out with us a 2nd time).
I know you have been looking for a new bike for quite a while. Its a cool looking bike. Enjoy!
Peace,
Don<><
Lea, I rode all my life also, my son was bugging me about getting a bike, my boss rode, I gave them up years before so I said OK will do it as a father son thing to do, he doesn't fish with me anymoreso I got a 06 Yamaha R1 Raven and I also bought my son, at the time, 18 years old, a new Suzuki GSXR 600, and I had alot of friends and family freaking out, why in the hell would I give a kid in L.A. a street bike, rice rocket... well we rode on the weekends with a group of guys my age, he was told that it would be a weekend ride, not something that he would be out riding by himself, well his first bike, he took a required safety course, and all was good.
Then the rule started to get abused, caught he and his girlfriend riding my bike in shorts and t shirts and shut him down, set the rules again, he lost interest, I sold both bikes and bought a bigger unit for myself, the R1 worked me I wanted something more comfortable, so I got a Suzuki Hayabusa (or GSX1300R)
Started to put some stuff on it, I knew it was only time before I went down by my hands or someone else's, well the day came, I was on a rural road headed up to the twisties and at a T in the rode, I was behind three cars turning right, I slowed and as soon I passed the intersection, there it was, a lady pulled out and made a left, nothing I could do, I went right into her rear quarter panel and went down, I was only going 35, full gear, except lowers, had Levis and tennis shoes, left side and shoulder took the hit, broken collar bone 4 broken ribs, very lucky.
So with all this said, I get back to why I put a 18 year old young man on a bike like that. Well we did it as a father son deal, He lost interest as I new he would, and If I had said NO, most likely he would have went out on his own latter in life and got one on his own where I had no control of him, so You can see why I did what I did with him...
I sold mine bike after getting it put back together, used the money to put some upgrades on the boat, the young man is now 23 and still doesn't like to fish as much as go catching, but at least he's still around to do these things with me.
So Lea, ride carefully and enjoy your new ride...
Congratulations Lea.....but be very careful! Hope you don't forsake us for "MotorCycleCentral"......![]()

My mother in law had one of those but unfortunately the local Kawasaki dealer around here is terrible. She really liked the bike, but the local dealer had a bonehead mechanic.
I would have looked elsewhere when they had a policy of no trest drives.. That is just my opinion though.. Is no test driving the norm for Bikes??
They ended up buying the bike back from her because they didn't know how to fix it. The bike never made it home as it had to be turned around and brought back the day she bought it. She had it in 5 or so times for this and they did not know how to fix the problem. She eventually called Kawasaki and said she wanted them to make sure it getÂs fixed or she wants them to trade the bike for one that didnÂt have problems. They had the dealer buy it back minus depreciation. Back to the Honda dealership she went.
I think that she should have pushed harder on Kawasaki to get the bike fixed because she ended up losing money on the buyback. It would have been a better deal to get a working bike instead of letting Kawasaki laugh all the way to the bank.
Have Fun!!I am sure you got it from a Much better dealer then the boneheads around here.
