Pretty colors on the 202 for sure. Hate the fact that the decal is not our ChampioN one, but it is still our boat!!! No matter what they call it!

To me it's like putting a chevy bowtie on a ford, it just looks silly. You can bet that people are going to take those stratos decals off and put champion ones on.

Tough pill to swallow. Like others have said at least the molds are still in use. Now I guess we will have to hear about how well stratos boats ride
I think it's more like putting a Ford logo on a Mercury...lol. Remember Stratos and Champ have been built side by side since '03.

My thoughts EXACTLY! Stickers come off, Champion stickers go on. The arrow is what people are going to notice. I don't have logo stickers on the sides of my boat, how many people do you figure have to guess what brand it is? Some of the classics just have a look that can't be missed. People call them old fashioned or whatever but that brand recognition stands 100 yards away.
I'll tone down my response from the Stratos board a littleAs mildly as I can put it, I thought they would have tried to integrate the Stratos brand in a little better rather than do what they did. The hull is there which I guess is most important, but I think this will be seen as a disappointment by many.

We really need to rise above all this, friends. Stratos is a fine brand, and does not deserve to be put down because we are disappointed about the situation. It is not Stratos' fault that this is the way PE chose to handle things.
Skeet and Mike could have easily signed with other brands. They chose to stay with the boats they know and trust, regardless of decals. Let's just hope the boats sell well enough that PE keeps producing them. We can help by promoting them. If they don't sell, PE is just as likely to destroy these hulls. That would be a bad thing.
As I stated in a post awhile back, this just might introduce more folks to the fine boats we know and love, since they will see them at more dealers.

Exactly---wheather it be CHAMPION, STRATOS,RANGER,TRITON.,BASSCAT,etc--how many of us come to these forums to talk about how cool the logo looks on the boat. We come to the pertinant forums of our boats of interest to talk about what we like about them, hulls, fishability, speed, rough water handling and other issues. But rarely about the LOGO on the side. I am just glad they kept what I believe is the best hull out there for all around driveability and fishability---The Champ 210. I think Ranger realized this last year and while that MOLD was sitting empty pretty much thoughout most of 2010 in Murfreesboro during the GENMAR bankruptcy waiting period---they went and copied it as much as they could not knowing where it mind end up--post GENmar bankruptcy---AKA Z-521.
McClelland and Reese know what the best hull is out there---why would they go without sponsership this year in these tough times until the recent signings with Startos---if they didn't truly believe in that 210 HULL. I just wish they would make the dash to accomodate the HDS-8 or H-bird 997 or larger. USE the Z-521 console.
I understand what your saying Lea, I'm not knocking Stratos because they make a great boat, what I dont understand is why they couldnt keep the champion decal and put in smaller letters "by stratos" or something along those lines. To me the stratos decal just looks dumb on a boat that everyone knows is a champ.
That's valid, Mike. Problem is, some folks were knocking the Stratos and saying the logo "cheapened" our boat....and, of course, we need to stop that kind of attitude/disrespect.
Maybe reverse that thought and say "Stratos by ChampioN", since PE decided to market the boats via Stratos.
They are just trying to make the stratos brand better, thats all! And this will do it!
The boats are now being made by Ranger people, not Stratos or any other brand. We need to stop the bashing/joking, no matter how mild, because it makes us look bad as an entire group. I like to think we are better than that!
As stated in prior posts, I repeat, this just might help to introduce the great ChampioN ride to folks who otherwise might never have seen the boats before. The large dealer network just might help ensure that the hulls live on!!

Bingo! If the Elite series picks up and takes off and does well in sales they may resurrect the ChampioN name. You never know. At least they didn't crush the molds.
