need nose bleed hole shot prop!

1998 202 DC 1998 Mariner 225 Magnum EFI with 6" jack plate. I now have a Trophy 25P on it. Best I can figure, prop shaft is 3" below the pad. The holes in the prop are all open, I do not know if they are even supposed to be or not. Any other prop I can try? Thanks.

So, what is it doing now? Slipping or lugging? That prop should be a rocket out of the hole already.

Gas tank full, live well full it slips, half a tank of gas and dry live well it lugs. I think the motor is too high. The motor is a power house when it gets going! The boat has no troll motor at this time and all storage is empty. The back area has 3 big
batteries and a large oil tank and on board charger in it. Maybe I am wanting it to
launch out of the hole like my 184 DC does!

Are you sure you got that right? Lugs with less weight? Something is amiss.

It blows out with weight, without it feels like your pickup truck auto tranny taking off in 2nd gear with your boat behind it!

I ran 26 or 27 tempest on my 202/225. 27 was a little slow with a full load on a hot day, but still better than most.

Might want to check your motor, make sure it's running on six to start with, before you begin changing everything else to find it's not putting out.

I will check that but I have had the boat to 71 mph. If I went to a 10" set back instead of the 6" and set it at 3 1/2" below pad would that help on the hole shot?

Not a bit, it'll give you a couple of mph on top end, but not hole shot.

That still is far from maxed for top speed, I still wouldn't swear you're running on all six.
