Aerator works in lake but not out

2001 Champion 181SX aerator works while in lake but doesn't out of the water I had the aerator switched out earlier in year because I thought the old one didn't work anymore Aerator has Manual (pumps water in) and Auto (recirculating I thought) modes. HELP? Surely I didn't just mysteriously have a second aerator go out at the same time I happened to load my boat

do you have 2 switches one for filling( aeration ) and then the hydro air for recirc ?

I just have one three way switch - Auto-Off-Manual. The Manual pumps water in until I turn it off or switch to Auto which maintains the level in the live well at a given time and apparently recirculates the live well water. I assumed the AUTO would simply recirc the water in the live well when the boat was out of the lake as well. I have only fished two tournaments where I have needed this function, but I sure thought that was an option?

The Auto still takes water in from lake and lets it out the overflow. It just does it on a timer, rather than the constant on like on Manual. It is NOT to be used while on trailer... The only thing which would work while on trailer would be if you had Hydro Air. Hydro is an option and simply forces air into the water in the well...

Add this valve to the pump in the bilge area and you will have a fresh water and recirc so you can run your pumps while trailering to weigh in. The proper valve to add is the V3 valve. You can also add and aerator to get a pumpout from the same pump.

Thanks! I will give that a "look see" and figure how to set it up! I definitely want the option to recirc while on the trailer! Thanks again for the help

What does the valve on the side under the shifter say? I have just been reading on the flowrite site and several different options are available. I do have Hydro Air on my rig, but the Aerator rocker works like I described above. The side valve switch reads simply Open and Closed.

On other rigs, the side valve switch could read several different ways, depending on whether it is Flowrite System 1 or 2 or 3 or 4...all of which are described in the Flowrite site.

then click on "Flowrite Systems Guide" on the lower left of the page. The arrows on successive pages will walk you thru the 4 systems. You probably have system 1, like mine.

The valve operator has 2 settings, OPEN and CLOSED. I may tinker some with it this weekend.

OK, then what I said above about operation is correct. Same as mine, except I also have the Hydro-Air "bubbler".
