Why doesn't Randleman Reservoir in NC show up on the Navionics WebApp? Been around since 2006 I think and not on it. I haven't checked my card yet.
I just bought a card specifically for Sonar Charting Randleman. We fish it almost every weekend.

You guys can help each other and everyone else.

If you share the Google Earth Track photos you get when you are notified that the uploaded data has been processed, you can cover the lake faster to make it accurate faster.

    The only thing left:

Check the software version, delete the update on you're sd card and re-download the update and be sure to select the right one; happend to me the other day. I had the new version for a HDS and I'm running a Touch; re-download the right one and it work perfectly.
If those solutions don't work, I don't know what to do after.

I uploaded some tracts this weekend. They were not tracts I recorded for Sonar Charts but tracts from being on the lake over the past year prior to getting Sonar Charts. As expected several of my tracts were unusable but some were good. I received the following email from Navionics:

    • Of those, for 11 logs we are in the process of mapping/updating the coastline of the area with your uploaded sonar logs.
Your sonar logs will be saved, and in the event that it/they can be used in the future, you will be notified.

What do they mean if your logs can be used you will be notified in the future?

What that means is part of some of your recordings were shown on land because the shoreline is not accurate.
When/if they re-draw the shoreline, they will process those recordings and let you know.

All of these will show on land because this lake has never been charted. The web app doesn't even show there is a lake there. How will they handle that? That sounds like I just wasted my time getting Sonar charts to map a new lake.

No you did not waste your time.
They have to change their world base map to include the shoreline/zero line using Google Earth. That process may take a month or longer, depending on how busy they are. Someone has to manually draw the lake outline. It is tedious work-- I have done a couple myself using Google Earth Paths. The lake below is one I did so I could have a shoreline reference for my waypoints.
Docks will be included when they do the zero line.

This is a lake I did that had no mapping of any kind. I had been fishing it for several years before the Sonar Charts program was started and have about 100 waypoints there

    Before:

After a few uploaded sonar logs:

Notice the map curser is at the same waypoint.

This is the Google Earth Path outline I created for that lake several years ago:

Ok, thanks Wayne that sounds a lot better than what I was thinking they meant. I am looking forward to being able to share some of my pics later.

Just curious what is the name of this lake? I would love to see it on the Web app.

When they create the new outline, the Nautical Charts will have it with the lake colored blue. Only Sonar Charts will have the contour lines.

I checked out the Navionics Webapp tonight and noticed the lake that I sent in Sonar chart files for is now drawn in on the map. There wasn't even a lake there last week. I assume the next step will be seeing some contour lines on the map from the data I uploaded.

Yep, that is the way it works.
When your data is added, you will get an email letting you know it is ready to be downloaded and you will get an attachment with the trails on Google Earth. Print that so you have a reference where you need to fill in data.
