    Champion Price

Can someone give me the roundabout price for a 1994 dc elite champion that is excellent condition pretty close to mint. The boat is without a motor has the following extras: 82lb motorguide 24 volt trolling motor, 6" hydraulic jackplate, 3 batteries, 3 way onboard charger, hamby keel guard. I am having a hard time trying to figure out if this a good deal or not the guy is wanting $4500. What should it list at with these extras.

    thanks

Possibly NADA Guides can help....However, you need to list more information, not just the year.

What length is the boat? What is the model number? As MMosher indicates, more info needed...

    Re: Champion Price (Lea)

doesn't seem like to bad of a deal as long as it is in pretty good shape. I've seen older champs go for more money. I was going to put my 93 180 up for about 5000 but it has a brand new 80lb foretrex on it. Didn't figure I'd get 5000 out of it, but its a starting point.

    In 2006 I bought my 93 180 for 7500.

Sounds like a good deal if it is really that clean. Without the motor on it I would have the transom inspected.

15 yr old "Mint" condition boats are hard to come by. If it was a hull I really liked I would find a motor and see what the budget allows.

Hyd jackplates are expensive to add-on, Hamby's are dealer installed and not cheap either. Don't forget electronics, cover, prop and trailer condition

The motor cost would be my driver.

FYI - my 1995 190 DCX Elite w/200 EFI was over 9K last year with some add-ons including a rebuilt engine w/warranty, new electronics, keelshield, trailer bunks and brakes

I'll sell you my boat for 4500 and you can take the foretrex and motor off and put it on the other one and then sell the hull for whatever you want. but if your interested better take this to PM before Lea has to beat us up.

I'd look at NADA, alot of Champs on there are booked without the motors. Mine is. If not, book the whole thing and then book the motor and subtract the motor value from the total. Just something to try......

still undecided. Champ is the only boat I've ever owned and I'd like to get some experience in something else while I'm still young. My uncle has a tr-19 and I think its pretty awesome. I've got a few good deals I'm looking at right now, but still no desicion. I have till april so I'll see what pops up since then. Also looking at a skeeter maybe, but never fished out of a skeeter.

    Ummmmm

get a ride in a 202, 203, or 198 before you make any mistakes that start with an T, S, or R. And if you are wide open and shopping, may as well throw a bass cat into the lineup. I'd be happy to give ya a ride in a 203 if you get in the stl area...

    Re: Champion Price (mixermarkb)

I've been in a 202 and the ride is great, but its to narrow and tippy. I haven't been around any 203's but that is what I was originally looking for. I would like to ride and fish out of a 203, but really I don't like the interior layout of the older champs. They don't seem to have much storage. I would like a 198, but can't find them in my price range.

I'm open to just about anything so far, its really going to come down to something I like in my price range. If I find a nice looking 198 around 04-05 for 20K I'd take a look at it. I like basscat as well, but same problem. Trying to find something in my price range that I like has been difficult so far, but I have a long time to look for a boat and I have already have someone wanting to sell me a nice looking triton for a good price and he's even willing to wait to spring to sell it to me.

oh Ranger isn't even a thought in my mind no worries there. I'm looking for a skeeter, because they are stable, scoot along and look pretty good and I assume basscat is about the same. I like triton, because they are fast, ride decent from what I have been in them, fish pretty good and the layout is awesome. I look at champion, because they ride good, are built like a tank and they fish pretty good. but compared to the others they are slower and I don't really like the interior layout of the older models.
