Man, would I love to have that!!! My dream rig is THAT boat with a 300 PROXS, but I still love my 186 bass n bay... In April I hung a brand new 175 PROXS on it. Next time on the lake I'm going to try out a Fury 24 pitch prop on it to see if it out performs the 25 Tempest.... I'll post the results next week if anyone cares. By the way, Pat I really enjoyed the Champion history lesson

kinda curious Pat, what was done to the hull to make it worthy for the salt- off shore sene, I can see backwaters and bays, but not for running in big swells.
I allways thought of taking the carpet out of my 96 202, and gelcoating and anti skid suface.
Does anyone know of anyone who has converted one?
I can be such a retard...that boat is in boats for sale section, pictures are ratty, but...it's all there.
Would I run that boat in 6' seas offshore? No. Was it made for that? No.
The bass n bay was made in the same mold as the regular 202, differences were: fiberglass lids instead of aluminum. No carpet of course, little different switch panels. The two outside wet boxes *could* have been baitwells if requested. And of course the galvanized trailer.
I really liked fishing out of that boat because:
In a rain storm, water just drained off and was gone, not spraying you in the face all day.
The interior was MUCH cooler in the summer than carpet, big HUGE difference on Falcon when it's 107 degrees. And that boat just looked badass...all business, nothing foofoo about it at all.
What I didn't like about it...
You had to strap down your rods if you were going to move any distance. If I let some bonehead in with black soled boots, it was a pain to clean up the marks.
*IF* I was the least interested in bass fishing at any level again right now (I'm not) that boat would not be for sale, it would be parked at my house.
