That's awesome!! When the Mrs. and I were living in sin together in college, we bought (she wanted) a pomeranian. We had him for 14 years before putting him down for the dirt nap. Two years ago (against our better judgement), we got another pom that thinks he's a hunter. Brings home dead rabbits (sometimes just the rabbit heads), gofers, mice, you name it. Started taking him fishing this summer and the first three times out, he got sea sick!! I mean, barfed all over my champ... Anyway, for some reason (I guess cuz he's sort of my bud, too) we kept taking him out. Now he's awesome in the boat!

Yes sir that's true! And you're right to keep taking your little pom out. I think people give up when it doesn't go right the first or second time. It's best to just go out to a stock dam type place where there won't be alot of people or distractions. Then just practice beaching the boat and letting them out and then have them jump back in. When Boner was a pup I would always put him in the boat at the house when I was sitting in it tying lures or just tinkering. Now when we're out, the boat is what he recognizes as home and it works well! He never got seasick, but he got car sick a couple of times when we went driving too soon after he ate.

Most of the time when I'm getting ready to go, I pull the boat out and get it hooked up to the truck and then usually have a few more minutes worth of prep work to do... during those minutes, the dog just lies in front of the driver's side truck door just waiting to hear, "you wanna go fishin?"
