Anyone know how to adjust the steering wheel on my Fishunter?

Hey folks - got a what I suspect will be a simple adjustment, but was hoping for a little insider information on this one before I tackle it. The word "Champion" is upside down on my steering wheel when the motor is straight... and the three spokes are at 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock, and 12 o'clock... does that make sense? I would like to "right side up" the word Champion, but would also like to realign the spokes (which, I"m not sure which way is "correct" or if it's just preference. Not sure if I'm being clear enough, but let me know if you need more information to offer suggestions. Thanks Champ family!!

What kind of steering? Hydraulic does't return to the same spot. If it is cable, I would think you would just straighten the motor, pop the champion thingy off, and take off the nut and steering wheel and reinstall where you want it.

I would put the spokes at 3-6-9. If you need pointers on removing your wheel, if using your knees doesn't work, let me know.

It's hydraulic. It looks like when the blinker or something was installed, they just put the steering wheel on upside or sideways. Do i just pry that champion thing in the middle off with a flat head screwdriver?

Yes, just pop it off, but be careful. If it is hydraulic, I think that it doesn't return to the same spot more than once. But it is an easy adjustment, line it up and see what happens.

Hydraulic, as said, does not return to the same position. Eventually, the Champ insert just might find its way right side up again...

If you're worried about going straight then center the motor and wrap a piece of white adhesive tape around the steering wheel (like the nascar guys do) then you know when you are going straight!

I bet this is why Champ came out with the Non-directional steering wheels for 2009! If the upside down issue bugs you just swap it out for the new style.

I'm okay with it... It just always seemed to be "off" and I felt it was a detail that could use some attention... you know how we Champ owners can be right? I also never noticed that it never came back to the same spot, either. Funny ...
