Does the champion /Yamaha combination get a benefit from trim extenders like the Champion /Mercury combinations does? I have a 04 Champ 203 with a 03 250 Yamaha ox66

I do not think my 198/225 HPDI would benefit at all from using trim extenders.I feel it has plenty of positive trim without them.I can find the sweetspot with the amount of trim I have along with adjusting the hydraulic plate.
However they sure were the berries on my 188/200 EFI Merc, gained it a couple mph.

I do not have any experience with the trim extenders but was wondering the same for my 96 186/175 efi. Would I see benefits if I used them?
DO you have a Merc or Yammy?...If you have the Merc...then for sure!
Merc!
Merc combo - yes, trim extenders. Yammy combo - not needed. The Yamaha's have more positive trim.

The Merc boys are now saying the trim extenders are not a good thing!! Not sure why, Don over on the Merc board also talked about the trim extenders are NOT a good thing. I removed mine.
When you use trim extenders, it pushes the motor bracket outside the frame on the engine, if that makes sense. I used the m-y wedge photo to show the brackets. Todd at C&O also warned me about that as well. An alternative is to not use the rite-hite trim extenders but use a couple of stainless washers to give you just a tad more trim without the engine brackets being to far out while you're running.
