One of my old boats is FS...

Just in case you were looking...

    http://austin.craigslist.org/boa/1290296540.html

It is an all klegecell hull, it weighed in at 990 lbs when new. Motor has (did have anyway) all 250 XB computer, EFI module and tuner.

I see he replaced the p.o.s. dridoc trailer, that's good.

If you ever wanted to be sneaky fast, this'll do the deal, it turns a 27 tempest to 6,100 no problem.

My all time favorite champ, no carpet, clean at the car wash, stand on the deck in 105 degrees in your bare feet.

Just to make everyone clear...it's not mine. I know the guy that bought it from the guy who bought it from me.

    Re: (Bassman04)

It would just bump up to 80. Passed a lot of 85 mph rigs in it though...as usual.

Now? Don't laugh...only boat I've got is a little 16' tunnel skiff with a 90 on it, might hit 35, but...it runs in 4" of water and I can sling you off the back taking off...freaks most of my bass buddies out at the bay when we run through ankle deep water, bumping stingrays... But it'll run where few dare.

I'll guarantee that little boat is more of a handful at 35 than a champ at 75, it constantly wants to do twirls in the water. When I've got it going, nothing is under the bottom of the hull.

    Re: (pmgoffjr)

Not to jack your post Pat,but since you were a champion guru,i ordered a 2000 193,with a 3.1L yamaha with a 25" yamaha prop,12" bob's hyd,and the klegacell??(hope i spelled it correctly!!)hull. My question to you is how fast do you think it would have been??? It turned about 5800-5900rpms with the 25 pro series prop, and by my self it would peg the speedo, and i never had a gps in it. I only weigh about 130,and only had it loaded lightly!!The speedo registered 80 and it would really get light on top end!!! I had to depart with it due to a death in the family just shortly after i got it.Seeing the pictures sure brought back memories, and thanks for posting them!!!

    Re: (xpress spanky)

Those first batch 3.1 yamahas were bad dogs. That was a low 70's boat without much effort. They tuned them down after '01 a little.

Yeah, if you really like bass fishing, don't ever sight fish a 10 lb redfish, you'll be ruined for life. That might look like a big bay behind me, but it never gets over a foot and a half for as far as you can see.

Did those Klegecell hulls ride as smooth as a regular Champ. (Did the weight make any difference?) I am pretty surprised this one isn't coming back your way. I thought if you ever found another one for sale, she would come home with you.

    Re: (U.S. eh Champ!)

I'm in the middle of negotiating a fish camp in Arroyo City, right now that's taking precedence. It would be a great rig for someone looking though.

Boat rode just fine, in fact I think it rode better because it wanted to float over chop a little easier.

    Re: (U.S. eh Champ!)

They did not ride as good, but they still rode nice!!!! I had a 1988 18'4" that was a better ride and handling than my 193 in my opinion.Cant wait for Pat's answer!!

Pat, you need to forget those reds and catch some of those monster trout Texas is known for. Here is SE Louisiana reds are so plentiful they are a nuisance

    Re: (iron banks)

We catch our fair share of trout, and some really big one's too. Caught two over 30" week before last sight fishing for redfish. Looked like a log laying in the water.

No visible way to tell, nothing looks different. Don't get in a sweat over finding one either, they only built three or four in '99.

Only way you could verify is on a scale.
