I've read posts about the Basscat carpet being one of the best choices and I'm wondering if someone has experience with the heavier 24 oz. carpet? Will the rod boxes still shut with the thicker carpet? Thanks

I have been thinking of doing the same thing to mine! I have heard that all you have to do is shave down a little bit where the rod boxes and compartments close against eachother. I have also heard there is no comparison the basscat 24 carpet is AWESOME! good luck![]()
Bass Cat doesn't manufacture carpet. If they are using 24 oz, then they are using 24 oz marine carpet. Just need to know who their vendor is. Remember that 24 oz carpet will affect how your hatches and lids fit.

I think this idea would work. The thicker carpet is the BOMB until it gets wet. Remember when all that heavier grade carpet gets wet it you'll be scratching your head wondering if your motor all the sudden got weak er what. Everything is a trade off. When it's dry it looks and feels fantastic!![]()
I hear it's good stuff and a litter box included

That's funny! I've had two cats, 07' Puma, 08' Cougar. You can't knock the boat!:-) They're arguably the best built boat in today's market! I just wanted a used boat under $20,000 and in that price range I had to look at boats in the late 1990s, early 2000s. I think Champion made some of the best boats ever in the pre-TN years. I also wanted a project boat and I definitely have one! I'll be posting pics soon and I'll be starting a new post on the "project boat"! I think it's going to be a really cool post! Details coming soon!!!![]()
