Is it true that Evinrude has dropped the Saltwater/Freshwater difference for 2008? I know that the 2007 brochure said you could run both blue or white in saltwater. Just though I would ask the folks here.

You now have you choice to purchase a blue or white colored ETEC in all hp ranges.
Looks like I have to trade or sell my 07 60 hp blue for an 08 75 hp (max for my boat) white. Does the 75 white come as a tiller model from the factory, or is it dealer installed? I heard or read somewhere (probably here) that some of them come from the factory as tiller steering.
The 75 (3 cyl.) will probably idle smoother too. My 60 is kinda rough when you go down to 650 RPM. As soon as you bring the RPM up to ~ 750 it smooths out. Dealer says it should get better by running it. Time will tell.
I sure wish the Evinrude staff would have chosen a lighter metalic blue (like the late 1960s), instead of the dark, almost black, blue. Sometime I almost think I have one of those "black" motors. That is, till turn the key and the heart of that E-Tec starts to beat.
So they are all the same only difference is color? The white E-Tec's used to have the "Saltwater" logo on the side?
