'O1 fitch 200hp speedometer hose routing, connection @ motor

    Model #E200FLPSSH

I see the hose running out of the boat, down under the motor through the section where the model # plate is attached, and ending in a small open gap next to a metal pin that goes into the lower unit.

Is that it? or should the speedometer hose continue down into the lower unit also? like a Mercury (there's no speedo pinhole in the lower unit like my old Mercury XR4)
An- online diagram of proper routing would be appreciated.

Just want to make sure this is correct, before unhooking at guage and blowing out, cause speedo gauge not working.

I have Hummingbird 997c SI (wow!) with gps speedo, but just like everything working

    Thanks,
    Matt

Your motor is a 2000 MY & it should go to the lower unit water pick up tube.

So it looks like somebody had the lower unit off and just snipped the speedo hose above it, by that pin I guess I have to wait till next time lower unit is off to repair it then. is that how you see it?

I did find a pinhole on the lower unit, much higher than my Mercury, that I assume is the speedo pickup. It's just below that metal pin, and on the front of the lower unit where it would pick up water pressure. BUT, I see no hole where the rubber hose would pass into the lower unit to connect. The metal pin (shift pin?) passes into the lower unit there through what seems like a rubber grommet, or bushing. I'm feeling around the pin with a small allen wrench tring to find an additional hole for the rubber speedo hose, and seems solid all the way around My speedo hose just ends in that small gap above the lower unit where that metal pin is visible.

Have you replaced your water impeller recently? if not why dont you think about pulling the foot and replacing it and fixing your speedo hose as well? just a thought.
