    Smart Craft gauge??

Has anybody heard of the new Smartcraft guage by Murcury marine? Its called the MercMonitor and just came out. It was showcased at the recent Icast and dealers boat shows. Here is a peek to a link:

Im replacing my MPH 3.5" console gauge with this instrument. I have found that the smart craft guage is a tool that can add years of life to your motor if you use it wisely as a tool to help improve your runtime on these super advanced outboard motors.

My Champion does not have the digital adapter that is necessary to install any digital smartcraft guage so running a cable from the console to the motor is necessary. All of my guages are analog so it requires a digital cable. Im thinking of doing it myself to save a few bucks because labor is so dang expensive. Any thoughts from Champion owners who have added the digital Smart Craft guages?

    Thanks; Big Ed!

How do you like the small Smart Craft guages?

Do they give you all the info that is usefull in helping the outboard run more efficiently? I do not have a Smart Craft guage and want to here some feed back on what you guys think about having one.

    Thanks; Big Ed!

I put one in mine. Practically tells you everything you need to know regarding the engine while running. Its money well spent. As far as the installation, I did mine myself though it presented a couple of challenges. One being removing the seat base to free up the pull strap that had been screwed into place in the riggin tube from the factory and two was removing the plug on the harnest to run the cable through the riggin hose from the boat to the engine and then connecting it back..(ask a dealer about that one, there's a trick to it) Other than that, it wasn't too bad.

    have a good mornin

I have the Smartcraft engine monitor (the original one, never heard of the MercMonitor), but not Smartcraft gauges. The monitor was installed at Champion when boat was built. I love this thing. It tells me everything I need to know!!
