    INstalling TD on Trolling motor?

    Folks,
I am considering what most of you have recommended in installing my TD on the bottom of the trolling motor. What to do with the extra cable???? Can I cut it and splice it back without hurting the accuracy? Putting it back together is not a problem for me, but I don't know if the cables are a certain length to maintain a certain frequency, as it some AC equipment.

My Motorguide foot pedal has a hollow middle that I put all of my excess in. I just wrap it real tight and stuff it in.

If you have a bow panel, pull it off, coil the excess up and zip tie it and let it hang. Don't zip tie it to any power cable/wires. Do not cut it!

Yes, those aren't your standard coax cables. Don't cut it.

    Thanks, Guys,
I will coil the excess inside the front panel. Got the TD installed on the motor today, and I am not real kewl with having all of those tie wraps to keep the cable against the shaft, but I guess you gotta live with some of that.....I thought about taping it, but I was afraid that the tape could come off if I rubbed against brush, etc. How do you guys that have the TD installed on the TM make it look good?, THanks, Al

I use electrical black tape to the TM shaft. No problems.

use 3M 88+ electrical tape, it wont come off. be sure and leave enough slack at the part where it turns so you dont pull it in 2 when you spin the motor around
