    Trolling motor pedal ?

Just wondering if it necesary to have the TM pedal screwed to the deck? On my boat (which I have only had for a year) it is screwed down "front and center". Not the most convienent place if I am feeling lazy and want to relax and sit down and fish!!!

On my previous boat, it was not screwed down and I could place it where I wanted it for the particular fishing style, side of the boat, etc. I would use one of the rod-savers on the deck to secure it when running high-speed, rough conditions, or trailering.

Any problems with doing this? Any insight on how you do it on your rig?

Thanks for any and all input - Rob

Should be no problem at all. If you haven't been welcomed already welcome to the boards.

The only problem you may have with it not screwed down is it bouncing around a little in the rough stuff. You could put velcro on the bottom of it. It should attach pretty good to the carpet. Only downside is it may pull the carpet nap up some if you move it around a lot.

Thanks ChampMan, and thanks for the welcome. I lurk a lot, and post once in a while - great info on this site, and the entertainment value at time is priceless!

Fished a Hartwell tournament (backseat) a long while back, Zoom pumpkinseed color "mistake" was all the rage - caught some fish, and had fun.

Thanks Brandon - will just use the rod tie down when "travelling", worked in the past.

If at all possible, fill the holes left by the screws....
