    Need help with intruder

    I have a 97 intruder, 175 hp, E175GLUE, G04339237
The last few times out it starts fine and runs fine when cold. After I stop to fish for a while it starts right up then when I take off the engine sounds like it is bogged down and stalls. It doesn't do it every time. One night I checked the primer bulb after it stalled , it was soft so I pumped and it took off. I replaced the blub with a Bomb bulb. Still have issue sometime. Other things I have done, decarbed, ran a can of Bomb fuel system cleaner through then replaced plugs. Last night when this happened I restarted, always idles ok, then when I took off and it started to stumble I pushed in the choke, and it took off fine. I did this again and it helped. I think this means I have a fuel issue but don't know what. Any ideas or advice as to where to start?
    Thanks Bill

Check antisyphon valve on top of tank for stuck ball, you can knock it out or replace with brass elbow. Sometimes this will cause that problem.

Any other areas to look at? I have a '97 150, and it's doing the same thing.

If your anti syphon valve is sticking open, it will let fuel flow back to the tank too easily. Check it as Bassmeister says. Then, if the problem still occurs and priming the bulb fixes it, it may be time for a new fuel pump. It may not be holding a prime well either, especially if you are in an ethanol area.

SInce I've changed the primer bulb it stays pretty hard. What helps is to push the key in when it starts to stumble. I'll check the anti syphon valve.

One other thing you can check is the fuel filter. Make sure the screw on cap is tight and its not leaking any fuel. I cleaned mine and didn't get it on tight, and it caused all sorts of problems getting out of the hole. It would run ok once I got going, but... it was a pita to get right.
