My Wife's goona kill me!

    I just spent over $400 on new baits! I think that is okay, but, she will flip when she get's the credit card statement. I have the cash on hand to pay for it, but, it won't matter. She will yell at me anyway! When I was single, I once placed a $1900 order at bass Pro. Talk about Christmas coming twice a year!!! I don't think I will be getting that new St. Croix rod I wanted.

    Its always better to ask for forgiveness than permission. I have also done what you did but not $400 worth, mine are smaller and I claim amnesia when the wiffy asked about it>

    When you get right down to it, we could all get by without buying much of anything. I spend most of the winter taking inventory, but still buy $200-$300 of baits that I don't use. Then smaller amounts on small orders of the baits I really use as they are depleted. There are fish of all kinds that need to be landed. Thank goodness for catch and release, or I'd be gone long ago.

    I usually buy my baits throughout the year, but, I always end up compulsive buying and have lots of baits that never get wet. I figured this year I would stock up on all the stuff I ALWAYS use and not shop anymore. We will see how much willpower I have when I happen to find myself in Bass Pro for the first time next season!

    It has already started, the mental list of baits I don't need. By the end of January I will have to put it on paper or I will forget what I don't need.

    I love it when the package arrives, Who ordered this?

    Hey Jeff;

    Better get the St Croix rod now while you still can. Youre already in trouble you might as well get it and pay your penance later.

    Those blue Legend Tournament rods are sick bro!

    Later; Big Ed!

    Re: My Wife's goona kill me! (The Other Big Ed)

    We do have a rule in our house: Everytime we go to Walmart, Bass Pro Shop, Cabelas, Kmart, Farm n Fleet, Fleet Farm, etc. me and the kid get to buy at two baits each (well, cuz you each gotta have one if it's the hot lure for the day, right?)... Further, if something is on sale, I just explain that I'm gonna needed come ice out, and so we get it for less. By the end of the cold season, we have about 60 new baits to never take out of the box!!!

    Well if Martha and I go to BPS or Cabela's as we go in the door she always tells me to get a buggy cause we will need one. No matter how many rods and reels I have she always ask me if I need a new one. A great lady for sure So when it comes to the guys that get chewed out for spending money on fishing stuff all I can say is

She was in a really good mood, so I said "Since your in a good mood" that's when it all went south! I confessed to making a purchase of tackle but wouldn't give up any hard figures. She went immediately to the computer to search for online banking records! Good thing the banks aren't doing paperwork on weekends!! I lived to fight another day. Now about this St. Croix.......
