    Prop Recommendation...

Hi Everyone, I would like to get a prop recommendation from you guys.

I have a Champion 202 with a 225EFI. I currently have a 26P Trophy (4 blade) and was thinking of going to a tempest. I can turn the 26P trophy to about 5700rpm and consistently get around 71-73mph GPS.

I have heard people say a 26P Tempest is good for this boat but what's your thoughts? If I can already spin a 26P trophy, should I step up to a 27P tempest?

    Thanks.

I've always heard the Tempest should be one pitch higher than the Trophy. Is there any way you can borrow a couple of props to try before buying?

And...if you do try a 26P Tempest, bear in mind that this particular prop is not always perfect out of the box. Several of us have had to try 2-4 before getting an honest one...

As long as you keep the luggage down, a 27 Tempest is the ticket.

Pat thank you for the info on that... I never thought about how much stuff I carry.

Truthfully, bass fishing to me is about fishing first and boating/speed second. I do carry a LOT of tackle. Maybe I should stick with the 26.

I will ask some friends if I can borrow a prop or two and try it out.

    Thanks.

    Although....
Nothing is more fun in your pursuit of green fishies, than passing the jerk in the skeet/toon/lemmingwagon/nitro with the 250 with your duece and a quarter...
