Motor boggs down when putting boat on the trailer....anyone else had this proble

I am a little worried about my ProXS...everytime I load the boat and almost get to the bumper I am unable to goose it forward to finish it off. Doesn't seem to be affecting the performance when fishing and running but this just don't seem right. My 198 would push my truck up the ramp! It almost acts like it doesn't have enought power. Anyone else?

It has done this since I bought the boat, just hope I don't have a bad cylinder. I have heard the merc has been having trouble with the #5 cylinders. I posted on the merc board too. Thanks!

What prop are you running? I was running a 26 Tempest and had no problems driving on the trailer. When I put my 26 Trophy on, the motor wont rev up and drive the boat on the trailer. I have been playing with the PVS plugs on the prop, but so far, it still isn't any better. I saw a post on the props board that said they are also having trouble driving on the trailer with a Trophy prop.

running a trophy 26P so maybe that is the problem. I still need to get it check out though. Maybe put the 26P tempest on and see what happens.

If you were originally running a 26 p tempest and went to Trophy, you needed to come down a pitch. Not sure if that will help loading, but it should...3 blades s/b one pitch higher than 4 blades is what I have always been told...

If you prefer to run a Trophy, try a 25p and experiment with the hole sizes...

Come to think about it my buddy runs the same boat and motor with a trophy and he can gun it up on the trailer with no sweat. I guess the best think for me to do is take it to my dealer and have it tested. Maybe just a bad spark plug or something.

Had the same trouble with a trophy prop. Tempest will shove it thru the back of my truck.

I too have had the same exact problem as you not only with the speed/rpm issues concerning the hook but now with this trailer loading power bogg from the Murc. I havent found one person until now who even had a clue of what i was experiencing or even talking about.

Dennis, I really need to speak to you if you have time at your earliest convenience. Sounds like we are litteraly in the same boat!

What prop are you running? You may have hook issues, so talk with your dealer....but the bogging when putting boat on trailer is a prop issue, not anything to do with a possible hook...

Not enough water for the trophy to push up on the trailer so that is normal. I found the problem in that all the hole in the prop has to be plugged for this prop to do the job! My dealer asked me that and I didn't know till I pulled the boat over! Runs a lot better now thank god!

I am running a 25P Tempest Plus on a '07ProXS.

It all is just so wierd. I am having the same problems as Dennis to the tee. The manufacturer has already spoke on my behalf to my dealership here and we are setting a date that will not interfear with my club tournament schedule as we speak. I am just a little bit horrified of the possible can of worms i feel i could be opening if it is not done properly.

Lea, I am a little bit new to the BBC. Are you a moderator for the forums and if so what is your role in Champion boats? And forgive me i hope you dont take this wrong, are you a female or a male? I just was wondering thats all! Either way it doesnt really matter because it is clear you really know what youre talking about not that women dont know, but you know what i mean dont you? Please!! do not worry...between your Dealer and the Champion folks themselves, you WILL be taken care of...to your satisfaction!!!!

as for th trailer deal..make sure you are trimmed down and your trailer is deep enough....and....whgat holes in the tempest plus? Larger holes help hole shot as well as trailer boarding...
