    Need new batteries HELP!?

I need new batteries for my 193 and I was thinking of going with interstates but the dealer locally only has the 24 series!? should I hold out for 27's or go with another brand? I don't think 29's will fit in my boat. Correct me if I am wrong! thanks for all the imput! is there a big difference between all the differnt sizes?

I'd like to suggest Optimas. They are lighter weight, cleaner ( no leaks ), and they hold a charge forever. You don't have to leave them on the charger all the time because their leakage is so low.

Oh, and they are about 2.5 times more expensive, and I know that's an issue.. but my experience has been that they last much longer as well.

You need 27s if they are for your Troller. I just purchased 3 batteries for my 05 198/Merc Opti. 2 Delco Voyager 27s for the TM and one Deka 24 (1000 mca, 915 cca) for the starting battery..all are zero maintenance....

There is a size diff between 24 and 27. I am not at home, so can't measure for you right now..

I'm running the Deka's in my boat. Two 27 for the trolling motor and a 24 for the cranking batt. I've had these in for a little over 3 years and they are still strong. I generally use either Contennential or Intersatate or Delco Voyager. I prefer the Voyagers but all the others have held up very well.

you might want to look in the owners manual on your motor....some motors have to have a certin ammount of cranking amps......my HPDI is like 1000 MCA if i remember right and the way the amperage is measured is kind of funky and you have to watch that you dont get a batt that is too small......i wouldnt go with anything less than a 27 series...but watch the amperage rateings

Luke is absolutely on the money regarding the cranking battery. My Opti also wants no less than 1000 mca. The 24L7 (I think it's L7) Deka cranking battery came in the boat and I just bought a new one same model. It is over 1000 mca and in the 900 range on cca.

And for sure no less than 27s on the trollers...

I bought 31 series for my 203. When it comes to power I urge overkill. That way you will always have enough and know that you couldn't do any better. http://www.bbcboards.net...67321

Do some research on interstate....(my opinion) worst deep cycle battery there is.

I put Cabelas AGM batteries (size 27) three years ago and am very happy with them.
