Deans, unless Aurora has them on sale. Give Dean's your HIN.

Dean's makes great covers, and I believe they were making the covers in 2000. Give em a call...

Aurora is making the covers for our Champs now. You can order one thru your Champion dealer or direct from Aurora. They are also a BBC board sponsor...

I have a ratcheting towing cover Aurora made for my 05 198. The fit is PERFCT!!! I had mine made for seats-out and had to tell them my TM has 52" shaft, but you can order seats up or out. Your preference...

I would give Aurora a call or E-Mail them. I had one ordered with my boat, and I have had it for (2) years and no sign of deterioration.+I ask them about the cover and, they called me direct and ask me if there were a problem, all I wanted to know was what kind of material was it made of. Good customer service. PS: they pad at every stress point.

I don't recommend Aurora. The buckles contribute to a snug fit but flop around when putting on/taking off cover, and I worry about them chipping the boat. In fact, I cover mine with heavy canvas reel bags when the cover isn't tightened down. Also, mine is canvas and very heavy, much heavier than Dean's cover I had with previous boat. Finally, I've had mine since Sept last year and the rathchets are getting sticky. Guess I need to oil them.

You have a choice of ratchets or no ratchets. I wanted them, and am extra careful with them. Aurora will make your cover any way you like....

I have found the seats-out version is way lighter than the seats-up ones.

I agree Lea! Mine is seats out, and windshields off. I never ever ever ever tow my boat with the windshields on. The first set had to be replaced due to stress cracks from the original cover.

mine was done at Kens Custom Covers in St louis....i love it its very heavy and works very well
i prefer the customs like that i think the cover material is heavier and i am not a fan of the metal Ratchets.....them driving and boat gel coat dont go good together.....jsut my opinion though

Re: boat cover for my new champ!?!?!? (jcfd129)

I called him (Ken's) a couple weeks ago and for my '99 193elite it would cost around $650. The cool thing is that if you can leave your boat with him for a day or two your cover will be ready when you pick it up. Bad thing for me is that I live in KC. I decided to order from Dean's for $525 and will get the cover in about a month. FYI-If I lived near StL I would have definitely went with Ken's.
    Good luck,
    Darin

My ratchets fasten to the motor and don't come anywhere near the gel. But, it is strictly a personal preference as you say...

Sounds like Ken's makes a great cover....

Re: boat cover for my new champ!?!?!? (jcfd129)

Mathew if you want i can get you the phone number for Kens in STL
i think they said the cover for my 198 was right at $800 but you can have it done anyway you want...seats up,TM length, whole cover covers the boat and motor ( thats how min is and i really dont like that part) or how ever you wish to have it done.......they are reinforced very heavily on the windsheilds, cleats, seats,TM,motor has diffrent material on the inside of the cover so it dont scratsh the coweling, reinforced on the shifter....its a very nice cover and does well towing as well
