    98 190/200MERC vs 91 184DC/175MERC

What do you guys think? Both are pretty cherry especially the 91. 1500$ difference in final prices. Mechanic verified all good and 100# on all 6 for the 175 merc (seems low, but even) and couldn't find a stress crack or much of any wear on anything. 23p trophy dinged a "little", puny 12v TM and 400 miles away are the downsides to the 91 184. 98 190 is a local, 1 owner boat. No problems, low hrs but haven't tested it yet. Seems like a lot more boat to me. I'd love to get your opinions. Here they are and thanks in advance.

Have owned both these boats and also a 191. The 184 and 190 are both great boats. Given the info above, the 190 would be my choice. Much more boat and motor and 7 years newer. Easy choice IMO. Good luck!

190 no doubt. Plus side is it is a one owner and newer. Much more boat than the 184.

I was too late Jack. First guy grabbed it this afternoon. Drove here from Oklahoma. I was second in line.

Paid a mechanic to check out the 184 in Elwood. Great condition but only 100# on all six which looks like barely enough.

This is starting to get old...

Sorry you missed out, that 1998 looked like a sweet deal. Throw an offer at the older boat, and at least you'll be out on the water.

yeah, that 91 has been my plan until that 98 showed up just down the road. I'm just a little worried about that 100# compression. The info I've found says it is not in the sweet spot. Does anybody out there know what a 91 175 Merc compression should be to indicate good condition?? Maybe its normal, but I doubt it.

A good de carbing may bring the pressure back up.
