I have the Berkley digital one which weighs in lbs and ozs. I have not compared it to others, but it seems to be accurate....

Could they be anymore expensive?

I have a Chatillion spring that is dead on and has been since day one. I have it checked every year. It only goes to 12 lbs though. Not a problem in the NW. I had such bad luck with digital scales I searched and found this one about 6 or 7 years ago. I bought it at Cabelas. I haven't seen them for sale for a long time though.

I meant the one with the "clamps" not the hook. I don't care for the ones with the hooks....But that is just me... I hope it is accurate, but since I don't tournament fish, it is just a way of estimating, anyway....

I use the Chatillon also. It's a brass spring type scale and they do come in various sizes. I have 2, a 12lb and a 25lb. You can zero them in to a certified scale. Mine are over 20 yrs old and still on the money.

Mine weighs about 15% light...I don't mind but i do use a balance beam when it's close...If I have say 10 lbs. according to my Cull m' Right i weigh in 11.50

I might add most of our club members, Walleyes Unlimited 400 members, use the chatillon scales. At each meeting we have a set of state certified weights there that we use to zero in our scales if we want. They are accurate to one ounce sub zero to tropic temps.

I just bought this one this weekend so I haven't had it hanging any fish yet. I did however test it after initially reading your post. I used a "5"lb weight from my home gym as a guide. I am more apt to believe the scale than the weight itself, but, I just wanted to test it's repeatability. I measured 10 times. I got 5lb, 3oz 5 times and 5lb, 4oz 5 times. It also measures the oz to the nearest fraction. After the first 5 measures of 5 lb 3oz, I did change the way I held the scale. That may have been the difference. Either way that is still pretty close as it was measuring on the upper end of 5,3 and the lower end of 5,4.

I wouldn't trust those weight set weights. I wanted a test weight so I took one from my Sears set once and a 5 pounder weighed 4.81 lbs on a grocery store certified scale.

My Cul-M-Rite weighs within a tenth of a pound to our equalizer scales. It's water proof and has lasted over 4 years with never a problem. No other scale other than a Boca Grip has even come close to the accuracy and reliability.

If anyone has one they want to get rid of let me know.

I checked my Cull M' Rite for the heck of it...With a new battery, it is more accurate than I thought! I had one tournament were I knew the wieghts were going to be very close and I weighed 1.5 lbs more that my scale said I had..Don't know what happened but I did'nt mind! I'm in the money...I'm in the money...you know the tune!
