help w/225 johnson - low rpms

Picked up new boat (used). 1998 Ranger w/1997 225 Johnson venom (sn - G04455921) Problem is can only get 5000 rpms trimmed up all the way (& 60 mph). Now I’m about 2200 feet in elevation higher than where the boat came from. Do I need new jets installed due to higher elevation? Thanks - DC

Did you run it at sea level with out any problems? If it ran fine at sea level then you've answered your own question.

Thanks Fred! Yep no problems at sea level. Usually I'm not that smart to answer my own questions. Now next question what is it going to cost me to change out jets? - DC

Buy the jet removal tool. I ruined a jet without it.
