Is it better?
I am looking to add a third boat to my stable, I am torn between the 210 or 203. For those who have driven both or rode in. Would you say the 203 drives and rides that much better than the 210? Or is it about the same...

Re: Is it better? (TRF)
I've driven both....
What type of water do you fish? how long is a long run for you and how often is the water rough? do you like a boat that you can get into timber or shallow water? Both boats have their attributes. It would be more of a preference thing based on how you're going to use the boat. One last question for now....how important is speed to you?
Peace,

Re: Is it better? (Champ203)
I got one thing in mind, Rough water and i mean 3-5ft waves and windy.. Speed is not the main issue if it can run 65-70 w/ a 225 then i am ok with that. I am looking at 2 2000/2001 203's.

5 footers plus, windy, 65 to 70 mph and dry. Sounds like my type of Champion. A 1998 Fishunter 190 Walleye Boat. But at 19' 4", maybe a bit short for you.

Re: Is it better? (Wall-I)
trf,
what are your other 2 boats?? I'm curious as to whether you stand at the helm or sit. The 203 is what I'd want for the everyday nasties. If I wanted the best of stability while fishing I'd get the 210. three to five footers makes me want to find a Boston Whaler, Mako, Contender or perhaps......

I've run a lot of rough water (Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Clarks Hill) where you don't always have the luxury of picking your direction due to boat lanes through the timber, and shoals. The 203 for its agility and deep chine win the ride contest in my mind. The 210 is more stable, has a ton more storage and rides fairly well (hey its a ChampioN), but its not as responsive to steering and throttle inputs due to its weight and size - I've found both of these to be important when running the really nasty stuff.
Peace,

Re: Is it better? (Champ203)
champ203. thats exactly the answer i was looking for..It is not all the time i run in this 3/5 weather but having to cross open bays and large rivers, i figured the 210 would be a more all around boat but the 203 would be the wave slicer, I just need to see if the owners would let me take it out on a nasty day to see the real potential..Thanks
