95 150 Fast Strike no spark

Put the boat in the water for the first time and it wouldn't start. I have no spark to any of the plugs. The last time it ran was when I winterized last fall. Over the winter I put a new regulator in because it had been overcharging and the tach was jumping. Have rechecked all those connections and have done a stop circuit test on the Kill switch which checked out ok. I also checked the stator for a short to ground and that seems fine. I don't know what the stator resistance should be but my meter when hooked up starts as .3 and then slowly goes to zero. Need some help here guys as far as what else to check or is it the stator. If it has the ois system, check to make sure that the little black wheel on top isn't cracked. That will make her not run, and screw the fire up........

Iam not sure where to look for this little black wheel. Can I see it without taking fly wheel cover off?

I do have the ois 2000 system and everything looks ok at least where it plugs in. I don't think the resistance reading Iam getting is right but I don't know for sure. What else could it be other tan the stator?

The black wheel is the pickup for the electronics to fire. You can see it with the cover on. It has a bunch of numbers for timing marks. I had one down here in the shop that did the same thing, and that is what it was. If any light gets in, it disrupts the fire...... If you need any used parts, let me know.... Got everything electrical except for that black cover.....

The sensor wheel all seems to be intack. There is nothing broken that I can see. By the same token that doesn't mean it's not the problem. I don't think there is any way to check it without taking it to a dealer which in my case is about 50 miles away.

Is the kill switch hooked up?

The kill switch is still hooked up and is working ok. It was about the second thing I checked.

My tach was acting like you mentioned just before my voltage regulator went out. Rusty will be able to tell you for sure.

I put the new regulator in over the winter because of tach jumping and overcharging. This is the first time I tried to start the boat since then. For the heck of it I even put the old regulator back in to see if I could get any spark to the plugs. Still get no spark. Put the new regulator back in and Iam back to square one again. Last night I did find a pin (brown/yellow wire) on the six pin connector to the stator that was pushed back. I was able to shove it back out but I haven't tried to crank it over since then. That connector has never been out before so it has probably been making contact but anyhow I am going to check for spark again this morning.

A little follow up. It's running! As per my previous post the next morning I checked the coils which checked out ok and I found a slightly loose bullet connector down in the port side cowling. Don't know what it went to but it wasn't fully pushed in. Next, I crossed my fingers and had my wife crank it over and to my amazement spark on all six plugs. I was suprised that these two connections,one bullet connector and the one pin on the six pin connector where the culprits! At least I hope they were! I took boat to Oh river and ran it for about 1/2 hour and all seems fine. BTW, tach is not jumping and voltage appears to be in normal range. Just thought I would post what I found in case someone was interested and for those who tried to help! I sure hope that fixes it! Thanks to all, Mike
