87 mariner 200 tilt trim problem

My outboard sags visibly when the boat is on the trailer. Went to check the manual release o-rings to find pink fluid spurting out. The tilt trim has no visible leakage. Could it be sucking air? Been trying to purge the air out with no luck so far. Any ideas?

Pink fluid like transmission fluid, or pink like "milky pink"?

Light pink frothy transmission fluid. Was going to open the trim up today but can't seem to punch out the pin on the center ram.

there is a roll pun retaining it in place its alum so you may have to drill it out

Drilled it out. Now I need a good wrench for the trim cylinders. I'm not feeling great about the adjustable wrench from harbor freight.

The trim cylinders (shorter rams)- Mercury offers a high-quality wrench that fits OVER the trim ram, and drives with a wrench or socket. Works like a charm (adjustable spanner wrench "can" be used, but they're VERY tight... and you don't want to damage the pin sockets).

I changed out the o-rings in the tilt and trim rams, the manual release valve, and I still have a leak down issue. Are there seals in/under the trim motor that could be leaking? S/n number 0b211116.

The diagram I have only shows an o-ring around the base of the trim motor.

Leakdown such as you've described is usually caused by one of the following:

    -Manual Release (or Relief) Valve
-Internal cylinder or system o-ring leaks
-Port Side Trim Ram RELIEF VALVE**
    -Leaking check valves in pump

** If this is the case, replacement of the PORT RAM ASSEMBLY is required.

Multiple seals on the pump/motor... for best view, look up your engine (by serial number) on our website at: European Marine- Parts Department

You will need to determine whether you have the Eaton, or Prestolite trim motor/pump.
