Thanks a lot Ken.....It's a lot of fun running down the info on my outboard and even though it's 30 years old now, it's still running like a sewing machine. I hope I get another 30 years out of her!
I'm sure you will Michael. Just treat her well. Use the good oil, take the cover off after every use & look her over. I usually dribble fresh water carefully over the powerhead avoiding any electrical components. I then hook her up to the hose & flush her out, still with the cover off to dry her out. In particular look after that motor cover & the paintwork & keep her looking original. If the cover looks bad it ruins the look of the motor. Any help I can give you just ask. Love them JohnRude's & E-Tecs. I will let you know as soon as I find a 1978 Johnson Brochure.
