    ALX IKOS rod reviews?

I'm thinking about getting the IKOS 7' ML spinning rod. I was really wanting to know how this rod compares to others in the $150 range. They are one of the best looking rods I've seen in my opinion (hard to beat the Phenix M1, though). I found them because they're a site sponsor. Any help is appreciated.

Contact Alex of ALX rods...he will give you the lowdown on them. They are a new release so I doubt there are any outside reviews yet. If they are anything like the Zolo series...they will be good sticks!

Ikos models have just been released, ring up Alex he'll give you the scoop on them and suggest the best model for your style of fishing.

Getting started building my own rods. Looking st the blanks they do not have the scrimless design, weigh a little more, and about half the price. If it didn't cost 25 bucks to have one shipped I would get one. These rods also use the lower end Kigan guided and I don't think they are the tangle free style. I'm sure the build quality is very good, but IMO you're not getting much else for 150 bucks. Just my 2 cents

Better than calling, I'll post so it's easily available. The IKOS are the new line of rods we just came out with. The blanks use an intermediate modulus material sourced overseas and they have a more aggressive action than our ZOLO series. They are very crisp and very responsive. We've already had a few repeat orders and the rods were just made available a couple weeks ago. IKOS Series are 100% assembled in our South Carolina shop. Yes, compared to our NG Series blanks on the ZOLO - they are very close to the same weight for the same power. The guides are the same model used on last year's ZOLO series - which is the single foot style most folks are accustomed to. Same style found on the majority of rods in this price range. The rings used are far superior as we use Kigan's Coalite ring (competitive to Alconite). As you know Alconite is seen typically on higher quality/price point rods, as is Kigan's Coalite. The trim rings are true aluminum, not plastic or pot metal - so you won't have issues with them down the road. The IKOS carries a 5 year warranty and is eligible for the Sure Set Replacement program. Be glad to happy any questions.

Sign up for our mailing list - we just sent out a free shipping special to introduce the rods. Other promotions will be coming soon.
