Looking for a yak or canoe

Now tha I'm boatless bank trash, I'm looking to buy a canoe or yak. I really don't know what type I'd need something light for one person to move around, I'm around 6'5" so pretty big, it would be nice if it was stable enough to stand up in, and the wife said she might go with me occassionally, but probably not so a one person would be fine. Just looking for some input, I really don't know what length to look for, what would be too short or too long? I'll probably mostly fish slow moving rivers in it, and lakes.

    Matt,
There are several yak manufacturers that market very nice boats. I have a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120. The boat is 12' long and weighs about 74 lbs. It is a sit on top model very stable and easy to paddle. I have outfitted mine with flush mount rod holders and a Pirhanna Fish finder. It is a real treat to fish out of this boat. You may want to see if any yak dealers in your area have a demo day. This would give you an opportunity to try out different makes and models. By the way I got into yakking after my wife went out with some of her friends. She absolutely loves going out on her Lime Green Tarpon 100!
    Good Luck!

I also have a big ranger and decided to also buy a yak... got one of those hobie sport fishermans with the pedal system.... I now fish out of that about 80% of the time. What I really like about it is that my hands are free to cast when I am moving around.... sure beats spending half your time paddling with your hands so you cannot fish.... check it out http://www.hobiecat.com/kayaks/mirage/outback/
