You also need to check your hot foot for full throttle.

If you haven't already, and I know it hurts, but go ahead and go buy 6 new spark plugs for your motor. NGK IZFR5G iridium plugs is what that motor calls for, but your gonna drop close to $100 for the 6. DON'T go cheap and buy different plugs. I have the same boat and motor as you. Mine was doing the same thing, could not get on plane. Changed the spark plugs out and it runs like a scalded dog now. Set your pad to prop @ 3". As far as PVS plugs, first try 2 large plugs and one open hole, if it jumps up on plane good you may try taking a second one out. I am running 2 lrg/1 open because it was a little slower getting on plane with 2 open with both livewells full. When they were empty, 1 lrg/2 open was good. Hope this helps.

How do you do that exactly? I think I might be having an issue with mine not pulling full throttle. I looked at it but I didn't wanna screw anything up cuz I wasn't sure what I was doing

There is a stop bolt you can adjust underneath the hotfoot pedal.

If you have a hot foot make sure it is opening up to full throttle, if it is then i would do as Mark said try a new 25 Tempest or a 24 Fury,

Keep us updated. Hopefully you will find the root cause.

In the backside of the pedal or underneath? Sorry for an ignorant question. I only crawled under there once and don't recall any adjustable bolt

edit: scratch that. I crawled under there again and see what you're talking about. It's screwed all the way down allowing the pedal to go all the way back

Check the 3L board and Mr. Don has stickies at the top that tells you how to check it back at the engine.

Wow!! Can we delete this thread? I'm an idiot!! I hope I didn't offend any Triton owners. I was just trying to stimulate dialogue to help with my setup. What a learning experience. When buying a used boat..ASSUME NOTHING!!! There were so many elementary problems that I should've taken it as a new install.
    Motor height completely off
    Jack plate installed too low
Hot foot jerry rigged (very dangerous)
And the biggest culprit, Throttle cable was WAY out of adjustment not allowing full throttle.

The Mark Croxton B&B 26 Tempest took me to 73.8(GPS) with way more seat time needed AND hitting rev limiter!

Thanks Don, Mark and all you guys. With your help, I am a very proud Triton owner!!

Took it out today with big friend(240 plus pounds), tourney loaded, tool box, spare prop, 1 full live well and 1/2 tank of fuel.
We reached 70.7 (GPS) and still trying to overcome some chine walking. Hit the rev limiter a few times probably due to wrong JP setting.
    I'm happy
