Hope you guys can help. I have an 1997 ragin Cajun 185, with a johnson 150 fast strike motor she runs great. Also a SS prop .14,5x24 XL anyway it's been doing this since i put it in the water . but I was okay with it for a while . now it's getting on my nevres. What it does is pull to the right, I can make right turns with my finger but need both hands to turn left. does it at all speeds. HELP!!!!! bluegillbill
That prob has too do with tourqe steer. Your prop is turing right and want to driff that way. Mine does it and my freinds boat does it.
My 87 had the same problem, bought a device called a torque tab that mounted to the skeg 10 bucks problem solved

The torque tab on the skeg works sometimes, but really is a band-aid that masks set-up issues with the boat. Trim angle, jackplate height, and prop selection all play a role in minimizing torque steer. You have to play with each factor until you find the magic sweet spot.
