    Blazer Submarine

Went to pass from behind a Tug boat w/out barges this morning that was throwing an enormous wake, and the Blazer just went under the second and third waves leaving me soaking wet with a 1/2 foot of water in the bottom of the boat!! This is the first time I have never had this happen to me before in any boat. I tried to ease over the waves instead of jump them, which I guess was a mistake. Normally these Tug boat captains slow for smaller craft, but not on this occasion! I am just lucky it wasn't too cold, or I would have been heading right back to the launch! Has this type of situation ever happened to anyone else?

Chad, next time try driving to the back of the tug and then making a 90 degree turn to the bank. Run through the trough or on the crest of the wave instead of trying to span it. Glad you're ok man, those tugs in the Intracoastal don't slow down for chit.

If you would ever get your butt in my boat I could show you how to cross them big waves without getting wet.

Saw someone a couple years ago hit a tug wake hard. Separated the cap from the hull on his stroker. Lost everything. At least no one got hurt.

The tugs and barges down here are small compared to the ones on the Tennessee River system.

Jason, most of the ones you see are not as big because they must go through locks down here where we fish, The Mississippi river has the Big-Uns.The ones that make the big wakes are the crew boats and the tugs that are not pushing anything
